The Feast of the Immaculate Conception – Saturday 8 December 2018

Mass will be celebrated at St Margaret Clitherow’s Church at 9.30am.

(This is not a Holy Day of Obligation in England & Wales but is one of the most important Marian feasts in the liturgical calendar of the Roman Catholic Church, and is celebrated worldwide.

 

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception celebrates the solemn celebration of belief in the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. It is universally celebrated on December 8, nine months before the feast of the Nativity of Mary, which is celebrated on September 8.
